Betrayal, conspiracy, broken family: Jyoti Maurya's husband Alok seeks justice
Alok Maurya, who is in the eye of the storm after he levelled allegations of cheating and corruption against his wife and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jyoti Maurya, said his family has fallen apart and everything has ended.Arguments happen between a husband and his wife, but my family fell apart and everything has ended today, because of a third person," Alok Maurya said in an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak.
Opening up further about his marriage, Alok told Aaj Tak, "Our marriage was arranged with the consent of both families. After marriage, Jyoti wanted to pursue her studies and I supported her. In 2015, she passed the exams and became an officer. Despite having a lower salary, I supported Jyoti's education in every way possible. However, she disregarded my value."The Jyoti Maurya saga grabbed headlines when Alok, a Class-IV employee in the Panchayati Raj Department in Pratapgarh, alleged that Jyoti left him after becoming SDM.
Alok claimed that his wife's studies and preparation to pass an exam for state government officer level were funded by him. He even took a loan so that she could get the coaching needed to fulfill her dream, he alleged.Later, Alok claimed that Jyoti was in an illicit relationship with Manish Dubey, who was posted as a home guard commandant in Ghaziabad. An internal inquiry found Manish Dubey responsible for tarnishing the department's image, following which his suspension was recommended. An FIR was also sought against him.
